Though most cats hate to travel, there are instances when you cannot leave them behind and as such, whatever mode of traveling you use, there are certain things that you have to consider to make it easy for you and your cat. The first one is having a cat carrier. You should buy this way in advance of the travel date and leave it open such that when the cat gets in, you close it and let it stay there until the travel day.
If you are traveling by car, the second tip is to ensure that you do not leave the cat alone due to the fact that heat might build up and suffocate it. For this reason, always ensure that you leave the windows open. From time to time, ensure you let the cat out of the cage but keep it harnessed to a leash. This will help the cat relax more. Another factor that you have to look into is ensuring that your cat is properly fed and has access to water.
