They say that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. If one is ready for any emergency, then the situation will not be scary for the pet and the owner. People consider pets as a part of their family and one must also plan for pet medical emergencies as they do about human medical emergencies. Since one’s pet cannot express his/her pain or discomfort, it is very important for the owner to be aware of the pet’s everyday behaviour.
To start a pet medical first aid kit it is very important to know what medicines to keep and what not. One can buy the pet first aid kits available at medical stores or they can ask their vets for a list of medicines and assemble them. It will include wound and infection spray, sterile gauze, hydrogen peroxide, bandages, tape, thermometer, cold pack, eye wash, penlight, thermal blanket and antiseptic cream among others.
