The removal of the testicles from the male dog is called male dog neutering. Sometimes the dog can be neutered without removing the testicles. Neutering is best performed by qualified vets and is done to reduce the rate of reproduction in dogs but the habit has other advantages too. The male dog becomes healthy and prevents such diseases as prostate cancer. Neutering is also known to keep the dogs less aggressive.

Male dog neutering is done anytime from 8 weeks and before the dog is six months of age. Due to the tender age, you should provide proper care to the male dog during this period until it is healed like thoroughly cleaning its house and making sure it does not interfere with the wound. Neutering male dogs has been known to be safe so long it is done in the right way by qualified people. Older dogs may be neutered due to perennial or testicular tumors.
